William Dewayne Johnson
Dewayne Johnson has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant
industry. He began his tenure in Whitfield’s Restaurant & Bar in 1999 when
it was called PJ’s 106 Club, and then changed its name to the Belle Meade
Brassiere, and now under its current name, Whitfield’s, he has been an owner
Mr. Johnson is a native of Nashville, TN. He received an Associate of Applied Science in Banking Management from Nashville State Community College, Associate of Applied Science in Logistical Management from Community College of the Air Force, Bachelor of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Johnson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served seven years where he was honorably discharged before transferring to the TN Air National Guard where he still currently serves as Captain in an Aero-Medical Evacuation Squadron. He is a veteran of operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
I am excited about the recent changes in ownership and am very much looking forward to continuing the growth of this business. I have been an integral part of the success at Whitfield’s over the past several years and will continue to be present seeking to continue the excellence in service and the quality of food that many have come to know and expect from dining at Whitfield’s.
Mr. Smith was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana but has been a native of
Nashville since the age of 12. He is a 2005 graduate of the Culinary School
at Nashville State Community College. Mr. Smith has over 14 years of
experience in the restaurant business and has been involved with Whitfield’s
since 2006 where he first served as Sous Chef before promoting to Chef De
Cuisine in May 2011. Matthew Smith strongly believes that a perfect dinner
should start with the best local and seasonal ingredients available and that
such dinner should reflect the quality of those ingredients.
